my favorite books

Magnolia Parks by Jessa Hastings

i would be crazy if i didn’t start this list with Magnolia Parks. for those of you that don’t know, i recently got a tattoo this past week purely because of this book.

Magnolia Parks follows Magnolia Parks and BJ Ballentine and their insanely toxic relationship despite being madly in love with each other. She dates tons of other guys to keep him jealous and he sleeps with other girls to get back at her, essentially. However, they always seem to fall back into each other. The lyrical writing of Jessa Hasting will have you absolutely falling for these characters and every word that is written.

A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

this book will always have one of the most special spots in my heart. the book, the movie, everything about this story is absolutely perfect. except for the scene in the movie where mandy moore sings for like ten minutes.

A Walk to Remember is a novel set in the 1950s North Carolina and follows a minister’s daughter and her unexpected love story with Landon Carter, one of the popular guys at school.

Beach Read by Emily Henry

if you haven’t read beach read yet, what the fuck are you doing. this is one of the most beautiful novels of this generation. emily henry is an absolute ARTIST with her words, and gus everett is the most amazing man ever written.

Beach Read follows authors Gus and January, so-called rivals from college. With the both of them going through writer’s block, they decide to switch genres, leaving January to write the next great American novel and Gus to write a romance. But what will happen when they find themselves falling for each other? What will happen to their novels?

Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score

this book is a thick book, but i promise you it goes by so fast. this book is truly one of the fastest books i’ve ever read, with such a captivating story you never wanted to put it down.

Things We Never Got Over is a grumpy-sunshine romance following Naomi and Knox, along with Naomi’s niece. Naomi , a runaway bride, arrives in Knockemout after getting a call from her twin sister needing help. Naomi meets Knox, a grumpy barber who wants nothing to do with little miss sunshine. Naomi finds herself in Knockemount with nowhere to stay and a niece to take care of. After Knox’s grandmother takes the girls in, an unexpected romance among Knox and Naomi ensues. With twist and turns, this book will leave you at the edge of your seat and consistently rooting for the romance.

Writers and Lovers by Lily King

go read this book right now. no other words besides the fact that it is beautiful and you need to read this.

A story about love, loss, and writing. Casey Peabody has just been blindsided by her mother’s death, and left heartbroken by her most recent love affair. When she falls for two people at the same time, she fights for her creativity, for her ambitions, and for love.

Tell Me Lies by Carola Lovering

guys, first off, do not read this book if you are an overthinker like me and are in a happy healthy relationship because you will start to question everything. i also cannot come up with an summary without absolutely spoiling everything.

carola lovering, if you’re reading this, i love you, can i be you?

“A thrilling, sexy coming-of-age story exploring toxic love, ruthless ambition, and shocking betrayal, Tell Me Lies is about that one person who still haunts you—the other one. The wrong one. The one you couldn’t let go of. The one you’ll never forget.”- GoodReads

this is my list of favorite books!! though the list is neverending this is what i came up with for now, i hope yall enjoyed! and make sure to comment on my Instagram what your favorite books are @ceceesreadingcorner.

trying to establish a list of my all-time favorite books was one of the hardest things i’ve had to do, other than list my favorite movies. but, here is what i came up with, in absolutely no particular order:

“How many loves do you get in a lifetime?”

“You have to promise you won’t fall in love with me.”

when I watch you sleep…I feel overwhelmed that you exist”

“You make broken things whole again. Me. You made me whole. And every time you smile at me, I feel like I hit the lottery again.”

“It’s a particular kind of pleasure, of intimacy, loving a book with someone.”

“The bartender appeared and asked what I wanted. I didn’t know or care. A bottle of Xanax. A loaded gun. I ordered a vodka tonic.”
